CS2: MongolZ face elimination battle at Thunderpick World Championship

The MongolZ face the prospect of being eliminated from the Thunderpick World Championship when they clash with 9z in their decider match on Friday. 

The world’s top Counter-Strike 2 team will, however, start as as heavy favorite, with esports betting sites pricing them at -1428.57 to walk away victorious and move into the bracket phase of the tournament.

9z are paying +600 to defeat The MongolZ and are in decent form given they defeated an underwhelming OG in their elimination match on Thursday. 

FURIA have already qualified via Group A after defeating The MongolZ 2-0 in the winners’ match.

In Group B, Aurora will clash with Team Venom in the elimination match, with the Serbian outfit priced at -1000, while their opponents are paying long odds of +480. 

With NaVi already qualified via Group B after sweeping their group matches, the winner of this clash will advance in the US$200,000-to-the-winner event, which is serving as a warm-up for the PGL Bucharest Major starting on November 24. 

With the CS Asia Championships being played concurrently, there are no odds available for PGL Bucharest, with these expected to launch after these two events are completed. 

Thunderpick World Championship decider fixtures

The Thunderpick World Cup playoffs bracket will be decided after these two fixtures taking place on Friday, October 17, in Malta.
