Originally, the CS Asia Championships 2025 was supposed to be held between October 1-13; however, due to the scheduling conflict with ESL Pro League Season 22, it was moved by two weeks to October 14-19.
The scheduling change will, however, mean that the CS Asia Championships 2025 will clash with other events, including the Thunderpick World Championship 2025 (October 15-19), Roobet Cup 2025 (October 13-22), and MENSA Nomadic Masters Fall 2025 (October 15-19).
Besides revealing the date change, Perfect World also shared details on the prize pool, format, and qualifiers.
As confirmed, CS Asia Championships 2025 will feature 16 Counter-Strike 2 teams, 10 of which will be invited based on the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) update on July 25.
The remaining six spots will be filled in by squads who qualify for the event via regional qualifiers in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia – scheduled to take place in July and August.
The first three regional qualifiers will all be held online, whereas the Asian CS Asia Championships 2025 qualifiers will be played on LAN in Shanghai, China.
The second iteration of CS Asia Championships will also offer an increased prize pool of US$1,000,000, double the inaugural CAC 2023 (US$500,000).
The $1 million prize pool will be split two ways (60/40), with the largest slice going to the teams and the rest to the players.
Hosted at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Centre in Shanghai, China, CS Asia Championships 2025 will play out in two parts: the group stage and playoffs.
All 16 participating teams will start their campaign in the group stage, scheduled for October 14-16, where they will be split into double-elimination groups of eight.
Only the top three teams will proceed to the playoffs, with the group stage winners receiving a direct bye to the semifinals while the remaining two teams proceed to the quarterfinals.
Playoffs will take place on October 17-19 and use a single-elimination bracket with best-of-five grand finals. All remaining games, including a third-place decider, will be best-of-three.
