Cloud9 New York Unveil New CoD Roster

Cloud9 New York have finalized their Call of Duty roster for the Black Ops 7 season, with the signing of a fresh lineup featuring proven veterans in the CoD esports scene.

The assembly of a new roster, featuring Makenzie “Mack” Kelley, Reece “Vivid” Drost, Ben “Beans” McMellon, and Marcus
“Afro”Reid, marks the start of a new era for C9NY, who aim to bounce back after a disappointing run through the 2025 season.

The previous lineup, which featured Kenyen “Capsidal” Sutton, Isaiah “Gwinn” Gwinn, Kyle “Kremp” Haworth, Kristopher “Spart” Cervantez, and Daunte “Sib” Gray, has not managed to live up to the expectations, failing to win a single CoD League (CDL) event.

C9NY kicked off the year with a fifth-eighth-place finish in Stage 1 Minor and have since managed to produce only one more inspiring result – fifth-sixth at Stage 2 Major, the latter marking their highlight of the year.

Cloud9 New York finished the year in 10th place, with a 12-24 record and 125 CDL points, 75 short of catching up with Boston Breach and securing a spot in the CDL Championship.

The abysmal showing last season led to a major roster overhaul and a completely new direction under the new leadership of Arian “Arian” Chitsaz-Dastgerdi, who previously served as an assistant coach.

Highlighting the new lineup are Mack and Vivid, former teammates at OmiT, with whom they won Call of Duty Challengers
Finals and reached quarterfinals of the Esports World Cup.

Joining the duo is Beans, who joins Cloud9 from Toronto Ultra, with whom he reached the top six at CDL Playoffs, and Afro,
who last featured in CDL in 2024 with Los Angeles Thieves.

The 24-year-old spent last season with Team Notorious with whom he won the CDC Miami Open, but ended the year with a
ninth-12th place finish in the Challengers Finals.

While Cloud9 New York’s new roster do not appear like one of the main title contenders for the CDL trophy, it features
experienced players who have proven their ability to perform at the highest level.
