Riyadh Falcons enter the second week of action with a 0-2 record after losing to OpTic Texas and Los Angeles Thieves.
Falcons deserve some slack for their 0-2 record, as they had to play two strong teams. On the other hand, they got absolutely cooked on Search & Destroy and Overload. Some of their issues might stem from mismatched player roles, which could lead to major roster changes later on the line.
Carolina Royal Ravens haven’t had the best start to the season either, losing to Boston Breach 1-3. Their decision-making in that match was questionable, and as it seems, the Royal Ravens do not work well as a unit. But it is early, so they might need more time.
This is a clash between two of CDL’s weakest teams, and it will play out accordingly. Royal Ravens looked slightly better on S&D and Overload, while Falcons have enough firepower to win respawns. A close game is likely on the cards.

G2 Minnesota went 1-1 in the first week of the season. They edged past Cloud9 New York 3-2, and while G2 lost to OpTic Texas on the final day of Week 1, they battled well and showed some good things against one of the league’s top teams.
G2 Minnesota look a bit shaky on Hardpoint, but their Search & Destroy is solid. On the other hand, G2’s performance on Overload against OpTic was atrocious and could indicate a significant weakness of this roster.
Boston Breach defeated Carolina Royal Ravens 3-1 on Friday. They won both Hardpoints and Overload, but the latter was a very poor showing from both teams, so hardly an indication of Breach’s strength in the game mode.
Both teams have a lot more to prove, especially Boston Breach, who could’ve done better against the Royal Ravens. It is hard to judge them off just one game, but G2 Minnesota look more polished.

Toronto KOI won their first game of the season against Miami Heretics, but it was not a pretty victory. They dominated on the first Hardpoint and Overload, but all other maps were very close, and could’ve easily ended the other way.
Their performances prior to CDL 2026 were not that bad, but it is hard to feel optimistic about Toronto KOI ahead of this week. On a more positive note, this roster is strong, so KOI have the potential to improve once they find more traction.
Vancouver Surge have mad a solid case for themselves as the undisputed worst team in the league. They looked weak in the pre-season and have not shown any improvement in the opening week of CDL 2026 Stage 1.
They were the last team to form their roster for the season, and it shows. In their loss to Paris Gentle Mates, Surge looked disjointed and lost, suffering a crushing loss without showing any strengths.
The top CoD betting sites have Surge priced as massive underdogs. And that’s a fair assessment.
