The Malaysian veteran returns to Dota 2 esports after more than a year off the scene.
BOOM Esports have announced the arrival of Adam “343” Shah, who will link up with fellow Malaysian pro Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung as assistant coach of the Southeast Asian Dota 2 team.
With this move, 343 returns to the professional Dota 2 esports scene for the first time since the disbandment of Geek Fam last year.
The 30-year-old has not been active as a player or coach since April 2024, although he has featured as a caster in two events this year — the Asia Pacific Predator League and FISSURE Universe: Episode 4.
343 has played for some of the biggest Dota 2 teams from the region during his 12-year career — including Fnatic, with whom he finished fourth at The International 2016.
He also spent time abroad with Complexity Gaming and Royal Never Give Up, helping the latter finish third in DreamLeague Season 10.
Since 2017, 343 has also been gaining experience as a coach with Complexity, Fnatic, and BLCK. He was poised to lead Geek Fam as well, but the team fell apart before he had a chance to appear in a single tournament.
His return to the Dota 2 scene comes as BOOM Esports look to bolster their lineup after securing a ticket for The International 2025 with a runner-up finish in the Southeast Asia Closed Qualifier.
343 will debut as BOOM’s assistant coach at Clavision DOTA2 Masters 2025: Snow-Ruyi, scheduled to begin on July 28.
