9z Team have only three players left on their Counter-Strike roster following the twin exits of Antonio “MartinezSa” Martinez and Adam “adamS” Marian.
9z Team have announced the departure of Antonio “MartinezSa” Martinez and Adam “adamS” Marian, leaving the South American Counter-Strike 2 team with just three active members.
The news comes just days after the squad’s fourth-place elimination from the ESL Pro League Season 22 South American Qualifier, where they lost to Sharks Esports in the lower-bracket semifinal.
It marked another in a long streak of inconsistent results for 9z Team, who now sit at No.63 in the global standings.
MartinezSa joined 9z in December 2023 and has since played an essential role in their highest moments, averaging a 1.13 performance rating across his tenure.
His most notable accomplishments with 9z Team include a semifinal run at Intel Extreme Masters Dallas 2024 and a gold medal from FiReLEAGUE Global Final 2023.
AdamS, meanwhile, joined the team in February this year and has since appeared in 10 events, averaging a 1.09 performance rating.
In the announcement, 9z Team explained that MartinezSa expressed his desire to be closer to his family, suggesting his departure is not performance-related.
They now have a little over six weeks to fill in the gaps ahead of their next competitive campaign in the Thunderpick World Championship 2025 closed qualifiers, which start on September 9.
While 9z have yet to announce which players will come in, recent reports suggest Guilherme “levi” Gustavo and Lucas “urban0” Urbano are the most likely candidates.
The duo were formerly a part of w7m esports roster, which disbanded at the end of May.
